Smolinski Placed On Disabled List For Rangers [Video]
The Texas Rangers made a roster move yesterday. The move was to make room on the 25-man roster for pitcher Jerome Williams, outfielder Jake Smolinski was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 22 with a bone bruise in his left foot.
Smolinski was hitting .389 with three doubles and five RBIs in 11 games since getting called up from Round Rock on July 7. He had started 10 games in a row before fouling a pitch off the inside of his foot in a game Monday night at the New York Yankees.
The Rangers have now used the disabled list 23 times, which leads the Majors.
